Casio Releases a Premium G-Shock Made With Proprietary COBARION Alloy
Although Casio today offers the G-Shock in a plethora of variants, the iconic "Square" model was the initial introduction to the market in 1983.
Nevertheless, among its most recent 2024 offerings, Casio has crafted a highly refined and updated interpretation of the DW5000C-1B. This model is akin to other models at the pinnacle of the extensive G-Shock line, and it features gold accents, just like the original G-Shock from the 1980s. The bezel of this latest model coined as G-Shock MRGB5000R-1, comes with an extra-hard proprietary alloy known as COBARION.
G-Shock MRGB5000R-1 is 43.2mm in diameter and 12.9mm thick, having a total lug-to-lug profile of 49.4mm. The new Casio G-Shock MRGB5000R-1 boasts an interior case made completely of black DLC-coated titanium, with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal protecting the display.
Bezels on the new G-Shock MRGB5000R-1 are constructed from 25 separate components, as opposed to the outer bezels of the entry-level "Square" models that are manufactured from soft resin.
The bezel's upper part is made of COBARION alloy, which is about four times tougher than titanium and has a brilliance comparable to platinum. In addition to its sleek design, the MRGB5000R-1 boasts the same Multi-Guard Structure and top-tier shock protection as all Casio G-Shock watches.
This premium G-shock model is powered by the brand’s most advanced internal movements. Besides, the module number inside the platinum case is 3541 which is reserved for MR-G watches only. The timepiece is solar-powered with Multiband 6 and Bluetooth connectivity. Due to the addition of Bluetooth connectivity, users can connect their watches with smartphones via Casio Watches app. This in turn saves a lot of button-pressing and menu-diving. Other features include world timer, stopwatch, alarm, countdown times, automatic calendar and backlight.
This stunning piece is officially priced at $3,100 which is actually a bit less expensive compared to what it offers.
